You know those photographers who make everything look stiff and overly shiny? Yeah, I'm not one of them.
Originally hailing from York and cutting my teeth in the dancefloor chaos of the Leeds hip-hop scene - shooting hype gigs for Club Fresh Jive and living the 'each one, teach one' ethos with York Breakdance I've always been about real moments, raw energy, and proper community. Those high-energy years taught me to find the shot, not the pose: MC's mid-battle or breakers frozen in the air with crowds creating chaos at the front of the cypher.
Fast forward to now, and I've brought that same unfiltered vibe to weddings, portraits and any other gig you want me to shoot! No stiff lace and champagne clichés here - just people laughing like mates, first kisses with dope energy, and the occasional "sod the rain, let’s dance" madness. It’s still Peace, Love, Unity and Having Fun at its core, it's just with confetti now.
Off-duty? I'm still chatting over old-school hip-hop and editing photos to a 90s classics playlist. One minute it’s a bride dancing in the wind, the next it’s a throwback to a 2005 breaking battle that proper shaped me.
Bottom line is whether it’s a stage dive or a first dance, I'm about capturing those truly live moments. No faking or fluff. Just heart, hustle, and a bit of Northern humour thrown in.
